Ecore Acoustic Engineer Becomes INCE Board Certified

Mike Raley, an Acoustic Engineer with Ecore, a company that transforms reclaimed materials into performance surfaces that makes people’s lives better, recently became Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE) Board Certified in the United States. Since most states don’t offer Professional Engineer licenses in acoustics, INCE Board Certification is the most prestigious certification acoustical engineers in the United States can receive.

INCE Board Certification involves two parts: submission of application material and taking the exam. In order to qualify to take the exam, applicants must meet education requirements, have a certain number of years of experience in acoustics, and have five professional reference letters submitted on their behalf. The exam takes eight hours to complete with short and long-answer questions. Three INCE Board Certified engineers review all exams and then decide upon the final grade for each candidate.

Not including the 2018 cohort, there are only 156 INCE Board Certified engineers in the United States.
